Go Paperless @ the Keokuk Public Library
With its upgrade to Polaris 4.0, Keokuk Public Library patrons now have a new way to “Go Green,” which could save the library paper, ink, and postage.
Cardholders have the option of signing up to receive emails and/or text messages for hold requests and overdue notices. Patrons that do not sign up for paperless notices will continue to receive phone calls and mailed notices.
Email notices for overdues give detailed information about what items are overdue, and what other items are still checked out on your account. Text messages for overdues give much fewer details, because of space limitations.
Patrons have the option of getting:
- Email notices
- Email notices with an additional text message reminder
- Text messages
- Mail and phone calls (no change)
- Mail and phone calls with an additional text message reminder
The system is already emailing “friendly reminders” to all patrons with an active email address on file – the reminders include “your items are almost due,” and “your card will soon expire.”
If you would like to sign up for paperless notices, please talk to a member of the library staff, 210 N. 5th Street, or fill out this online form on our website.
