Join Fred Seay, local amateur historian and speaker, as he gives a speech about the long road from Civil Rights to the reelection of our first black president!
Rescheduled from February 16th, in Honor of Black History Month, Fred Seay, local amateur historian and speaker, will give a presentation at the Keokuk Public Library entitled, “The Long Journey: The Making of a President.” The presentation will take place in the Round Room on Tuesday, March 19th at 6:00 pm.
Mr. Seay will pay tribute to Barack Obama’s reelection as the first Black President with an audio visual presentation, historical artifacts from the Civil Rights Movement, and Obama memorabilia and photos. Attendees will learn more about this journey and a man who rose from the hardships and accomplishments of the Civil Rights Movement to become our 44th President of the United States. An informative evening of entertainment.
The presentation is free and open to the public, and light refreshments will be served. The library is located at 210 N. 5th Street, (319) 524-1483, and online at www.keokuklibrary.org.
