New Tile at the Keokuk Public Library!
For possibly two weeks (February 4th - February 16th) Adams Contracting, Keokuk, will be tearing out and replacing the tile in the front lobby of the Keokuk Public Library, thanks to the Keokuk Public Library Foundation.
The foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit that raises private donations for the benefit of the library. Recently the foundation paid for the replacement of the front lobby windows and automated doors, as well as the alley-side windows. They also pay for free programs for library users, like the upcoming Winter Reading Program.
During the week of February 4 the front lobby of the library will be closed, and there will be no access to the upstairs restrooms or the Round Room. Library users can enter the back entrance and use the restrooms on the lower-level. There is an elevator available for those that have trouble with stairs.
“We regret the inconvenience to our patrons, so please excuse the mess and noise for a few days. We are very excited to complete this project and replace the original tile,” said Director Emily Rohlfs.
To donate to the library foundation, talk to Emily at the library, 210 N. 5th Street in Keokuk, or call (319) 524-1483.
