The Keokuk Pubilc Library Foundation has been given an opportunity to begin a permanent endowment fund through the Keokuk Area Community Foundation (KACF).  Through KACF, the library will be able to set up an Agency Endowment to provide income to the library in perpetuity.

Because of tax credits offered through 2007 Endow Iowa, there is a definite advantage to giving to the endowment now.  Endow Iowa provides donors with a state tax credit worth 20% of the amount of the gift.  Currently the program has been authorized to offer $2 million in tax credits each year.  More information can be found online at: http://www.iowalifechanging.com/endowiowa

Any gift amount qualifies, but tax credit is only available if money is given through a community foundation.  To make a donation to the library's Agency Endowment, please make your check out to KACF, noting that the gift is for the library.  The check should be mailed to the Keokuk Public Library Foundation.
